What does it allow you to do

Verify the authenticity and integrity of files signed with certificates generated by the Social Security in PDF, PAdES,  XAdES, CAdES and PKCS#7 formats.

What you need to do it

  • Have a browser compatible with Java applets.
  • Java Virtual Machine installed.
  • Be in possession of the file to be verified, as the verification is done on your computer.

To be taken into account

The aim of the signature and certificate verification service is to verify the electronic signatures of the documents issued by the Social Security, so that any citizen can verify the authenticity and integrity of these documents. You can also use the public platform VALIDe, which offers an online service to verify electronic Signatures and Certificates.

The service is offered to verify files signed with the certificates used by the Social Security (PDF, XAdES, CAdES and PKCS#7 formats), specifically, electronic seal certificates for automated administrative actions and public employee certificates. The time stamps associated with the documents are also validated, for those cases in which it is necessary to check the date on which each of the signatures was made".

To use this service, the user will be asked to install a small application on their PC and to activate a browser extension (under the name CryptoBrowser).
