Through this service, the principal can modify the powers of attorney term of validity recorded in the powers of attorney register.
Individuals or legal entities and Entities without legal personality that appear as principals in the Social Security powers of attorney register.
Allows principals to modify the powers of attorney term of validity recorded in the powers of attorney register. They may shorten or extend this term.
Have powers of attorney in the register that are subject to a change of term, i.e. powers of attorney that are registered and whose term has not expired.
The reduction of the term of a power of attorney modifies the end date of it to the new date requested, and does not require acceptance by the authorised person.
The extension of the term for a power of attorney requires a new reference number be assigned with the requested dates. If express acceptance by the authorised person is required, the extension of the time limit shall not take effect until they accept it. The initial power of attorney will remain in effect until the modification is accepted, so the authorised person may continue to use it.
Extensions granted shall be valid for a maximum of five years.
In cases where the extension to the term needs to be accepted, the authorised person must expressly accept these powers of attorney within a maximum period of one month for them to be effective.
