This service enables workers in the Special Scheme for Seafarers to apply, via Electronic Register, for retirement benefits covered by Community Regulations or a Bilateral Agreement.

About this procedure

Who it is for

For individuals from the Special Scheme for Seafarers who wish to apply for a retirement pension included within the scope of Community Regulations or a Bilateral Social Security Agreement.

What you can do

  • Submit an Electronic Register application.
  • Download and attach an application form.
  • Attach documentation.

What you need to do it

  • Fill in and attach the application form.
  • Attach copies of all documents detailed in the instructions.
  • Have software that enables you to fill in and save the application to be attached.

Please note

The total size of the documents to be attached may not exceed 5 Mb.

Please note that there is a time limit on the online session and if this expires while you are completing the form, you will have to start a new session and complete any parts of the form that were not yet completed.

Next steps

Once the procedure is processed, you will receive a "proof of receipt" (zip) in the form of an application receipt in PDF format and the server signature which ensures that the transaction has been correctly processed.
If you do not receive the confirmation message or you receive an error or transmission failure message, you must submit the documentation at another time or through other channels.

The Social Marine Institute will post the application resolution to the address of the interested party.
